Utility Features in e-Way Bill portal

While generating e-Way Bill there are often need to search some important information like Taxpayer’s status, Transporter’s status, HSN code, Pin code, distance between pin codes & print e-Way Bill etc. The e-Way Bill portal is equipped with these features. Here we will discuss the Utility Features in E-Way Bill portal.

Q1. How to search Taxpayer’s Status?

Ans. If you need to know the current status of a registered taxpayer, e-Way bill portal is equipped with this feature. Select ‘Search’ menu of the main page and click ‘Taxpayer Search’. The next screen will appear like this :

Enter GST number of the taxpayer you want to search for, then enter Captcha code and click GO button to display the status of the taxpayer.


Q2. How to search Transporter’s Status?

Ans. If you need to know the status of a Transporter, e-Way bill portal is equipped with this feature. Select ‘Search’ menu of the main page and click ‘Transporters Search’. The next screen will appear like this :

Enter Transporter’s ID of the transporter you want to search for, then enter Captcha code and click GO button to display the status.


Q3. How to search HSN code of a product?

Ans. If you want to find HSN code with the help of a Product Name or vice-versa, to know Product Name providing HSN code. Select ‘Search’ menu of the main page and click ‘Product Search’. The next screen will appear like this :

Enter HSN Code to display the Product Name or Enter Product Name to display HSN Code you want to search for, then enter Captcha code and click GO button to display the HSN Code & the Product Name.


Q4. How to search a PIN code?

Ans. To search a PIN code, select ‘Search’ menu of the main page and click ‘Pincode Search’. The next screen will appear like this :

Enter Pincode, Captcha code and click GO button to display the Pincode & the State Name.


Q5. How to search distance between from PIN code to PIN code?

Ans. It is a great feature to know the distance between two PIN codes. Select ‘Search’ menu of the main page and click ‘Pin to Pin Distance Search’. The next screen will appear like this :

Enter the from Pincode, to Pincode, Captcha code and click GO button to display the Approximate Distance in Kms. Between The Pin codes as under.

Q6. How to print e-way bill?

Ans. If you have e-Way Bill No., Date & Document number, you can print e-Way Bill. Select ‘Search’ menu of the main page and click ‘E-Way Bill Print’. The next screen will appear like this :

Enter e-Way Bill No., Date & Document No and then enter Captcha code and click GO button to display/print the e-Way Bill.


Q7. How to Unblock for e-way bill?

Ans. To Unblock status of a GST number, select ‘Search’ menu of the main page, and click Update Block Status.

The next screen will appear like this :

Then Enter GST Number, Captcha Code and click on GO button.

This will check for the updated status through the GST Common Portal and if fulfilled, the ‘Blocked’ status in e-Way bill system will subsequently get updated to ‘Unblock’ status.
