How to open Govt. Email with KAVACH Authentication App

Hi, this article aims to clarify the common issues related to Govt. e-mail and KAVACH authentication Application. Here we will discuss how to open Govt. Email with KAVACH Authentication App.

WHAT IS GOVT. E-MAIL ID?

The Govt. e-mail id is the e-mail address created by NIC for the Govt. organizations like - emailname@gov.in or emailname@nic.in or emailname@wbcomtax.gov.in etc.

WHAT IS KAVACH APPLICATION?

To open Government e-mail, only User-ID and Password is not enough for login. In addition to secure extra layer of security, KACACH App is a dedicated mobile application displaying auto numbers for login in to Govt. e-mail.

HOW TO RECOVER PASSWORD FOR GOVT E-MAIL ID:

Step1. Open the portal https://email.gov.in/ in your Desktop Computer.

Step2. Click on Forgot Password

Step3. Enter your Govt. Email Address like (abcd@wbcomtax.gov.in)

Step4. Enter Last 4 (Four) digit (9999) of your registered mobile number and Enter the Captcha code displayed.

Step4. Click on Submit button.

Step5. Complete the next procedure as: Enter the 'OTP' received in mobile, Enter New Password & Confirm the same password then click Submit button.

Now your USER-ID (Govt. E-Mail ID) and PASSWORD is ready for Login.

HOW TO INSTALL KAVACH APP IN YOUR MOBILE?

Step1. Search and Install KAVACH Authentication App in your mobile through Play Store.

Step2. Allow all the notification appeared.

Step3. Open the KAVACH App in your mobile,

Step4. Enter Govt. e-Mail ID as Username and Password.

Step5. Click check box below for accepting the agreement,

Step6. Allow auto fill up 'OTP' will installed KAVACH successfully and display Numbers,
which auto changes after every 30 Seconds.

Now your KAVACH App is successfully installed in your mobile.

HOW TO OPEN YOUR GOVT. E-MAIL?

Step1. Open the portal https://email.gov.in/ in your Desktop Computer.

Step2. Enter E-Mail ID as Username.

Step3. Enter Password.

Step4. Click on Sign In button.

A notification will appear in your Mobile with the options Accept or Deny.
Press Accept in your mobile, automatically your e-Mail will open in your Desktop Computer.

Or

Step1. Open the portal https://email.gov.in/ in your Desktop Computer.

Step2. Enter E-Mail ID as Username.

Step3. Enter Password along with the Numbers displaying in KAVACH App of your mobile. If Password is Abc@123 and the numbers displaying in KAVACH app is 987654 then enter 'Abc@123987654' as Password.

Step4. Click on Sign In button, your e-Mail will open in your Desktop Computer.

NOTE THAT,

1. In some mobile having older version of android application is not supporting the KAVACH App to install but receives the 'OTP' successfully. Then you can install to another mobile with the help of OTP received in your registered mobile.

2. While installing KAVACH App in mobile, if message appears ‘Device Limit Exceeded’ then contact to your Administrator or nodal officer in this regard.
