How does the Income Tax department traces high-value transactions?
The Income Tax Department continues its process and applies various techniques, analysis to tract the non-filers of Return and those have under report their income. IT department collect all major financial transactions from Banks as well as government departments.
To ensure
compliance with these regulations, the government has established a compliance
portal enabling taxpayers to submit their responses related to high-value
transactions in income tax.
Here we discussed the online steps to use the IT compliance portal to submit the response in brief:-
The IT Compliance portal is : https://compliance.insight.gov.in/compliance/login

Step 1: Login to Income Tax Compliance Portal
Taxpayer can also
log in to the https://eportal.incometax.gov.in/iec/foservices/#/login
using his PAN
number and password.
Step 2: Know the
High-Value Transaction
After logging
in, taxpayer can view the high-value transaction reported by the Income Tax
Department by clicking on Pending Actions -> then on the Compliance
portal -> and then on E Campaign.
Step 3: Selection
of the relevant e-Campaign
The appeared page
of the e-Campaign portal, select the relevant e-Campaign and click on ‘Provide
feedback in AIS.’ If there
is no active e-Campaigns or e-Verifications, then the message will appear – “No
Compliance Record has been generated for you.”
Step 4: Selection
of information Category
An ‘E’ mark can be
seen against the information category for which the communication have
received. ‘E’ - means expected.
Step 5: Submit the Response
Select the most appropriate response from the
option as :
- Information is correct
- Information is not fully correct
- Income is not taxable
- Information relates to
other PAN/year
- Information is
duplicate/included in other displayed information
- Information is denied
The response submitted will be communicate to
the Income Tax Department for further processing.
